This website is absolutely hilarious and one of my favorites. This guy goes on to Craigslist and emails people back when they want something, but he messes with them so badly that they get so angry that they usually end up cussing him out. The deviance that this site is about is the fact that this guy messes and jokes with people who are trying to buy/sell something. These are all good people, but he is a complete jerk, but in my opinion hysterical. The purpose of this site is for pure enjoyment, if you're in to this type of humor. There are some advertisements on the site, and also a list of other people on Craigslist that he has played pranks on. In my opinion, this activty should be labeled deviant because he is playing pranks on people for so long to the point where they start threatening him. But at the same time, he isn't doing any harm or anything illegal. Like I said before, if you have this type of humor, then this website is for you.
I completely agree that this should be considered deviant behavior. People getting enjoyment out of others anger, trolling as 4chan describes it, goes against societal norms. Especially when its happening on a forum devoted to amicable interactions between buyers and sellers.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw this and read your post I was very interested in looking at the site. Then once I started reading one I couldn't stop and I had to read them all. Yes, I agree this would be considered a deviant act, but this is hysterical. Just the point that someone takes time to just mess with people like this is funny. As stated he really isn't doing anything illegal or harmful. It is just for humor and he does a great job with it in my eyes. Great site hahaha
